You can help
|
|
You can help us protect the sea turtles in many different ways:
Act
- Have a responsible tourist attitude: When on holidays in a sea turtle nesting area, respect the environment and the instructions given by the beach guards and local authorities. Don’t leave any garbage; respect the maximum number of tourists allowed per beach; don’t use jet skis or mopeds; don’t walk on the beach at night; don’t go to restaurants, bars, or hotels that have lights on the beach. Encourage other tourists to act similarly.
- Have an environmentally friendly attitude. Because waste, pollution and global warming directly affect the survival of sea turtles, it is crucial to pay attention to your every day actions. By thinking and acting “green,” you can personally contribute to a better global environment and become a model for others.
Here are some tips: try to recycle aluminium cans, paper and glass, save water, fossil energy and heating, use public transports, travel green, consume local, biological and environmentally friendly packaged products, preserve the local biodiversity, vote for “green” political parties.
Give
Without donations from generous individuals, research, monitoring, public awareness and rehabilitation efforts could not be sustained. We are grateful for your generosity and your determination to improve the life and future of sea turtles. On our website you will find different ways to contribute to our mission: - Buy and offer gifts from the MEDASSET collection, in our gift shop - Donate now through online payments - Join “Friends of MEDASSET” through online payment and receive more information about our projects. - Attend and invite your family and friends to our fundraising events, to help us raise awareness, new supporters and donors.

The Mediterranean Sea is one of the earth’s biologically richest area, but also one of the most threatened. Fortunately, it is also the object of many conservation projects, which try to preserve its endangered fauna and flora, especially through regional cooperation. MEDASSET participates in this crucial mission through its work on specific marine spots, as well as by collaborating with other sea turtle conservation NGOs and volunteers around the Mediterranean.
