At a global level, MEDASSET’s work is supported by key international intergovernmental organisations and further reinforced by selected sponsors and funders. Our contribution to the improvement of the protection of sea turtles in the Mediterranean Basin and the latter’s ecological significance has been recognised by the United Nations (UNEP/MAP), awarding MEDASSET official partner status for the implementation of its Mediterranean Action Plan for the Conservation of Marine Turtles. MEDASSET is also a Permanent Observer-Member to the Bern Convention (Council of Europe). To date, we have joined our voice and lent our support on numerous occasions to organisations from around the world, such as in the USA, the Caribbean, the Gulf of Mexico, the Cayman Islands, India, and Australia. In addition, we regularly attend the annual Symposium on Sea Turtle Biology and Conservation, in order to exchange information and experiences with the international community.
