From 2011 to 2014, MEDASSET in partnership with the Environmental Programme “Mission Water” of the Coca-Cola System in Greece, with the support of the Environmental Programme of the United Nations (UNEP/MAP) implemented the “Join In and Clean Up” campaign. Over 12,000 volunteers participated in 44 beach cleanups, removing and recording 230,555 objects out of 40 klm of coastline whose weight amounted to 18.7 tons, while 41,000 citizens got informed about the devastating impact of marine litter on humans and the environment.
