15 January 2013: The Athens International Airport and MEDASSET  welcome travellers and airport visitors to the Poster Exhibition “Inspired by the Marine Environment,” celebrating 25 years of MEDASSET’s environmental and conservation work.

This is MEDASSET’s third exhibition at the airport, and it offers a view of marine life through the eyes of talented graphic design students. MEDASSET, in cooperation with AKTO College of Art and Design, held a design competition during November and December 2012. All designs were required to promote the need to protect the Mediterranean Sea while raising public awareness of the degradation of the marine environment. Out of 48 works submitted to the competition, 25 were chosen for display by a judging panel, and the three prize-winning designs will be announced during a presentation ceremony to be held at the airport on Jan. 25.

Also on display at this exhibition are photographs from MEDASSET’s archive, documenting the organization’s work in protecting sea turtles over the past 25 years.

“Inspired by the Marine Environment” will be accessible to visitors on a 24-hour basis from Jan. 14 until April 30, 2013. The exhibition is located in the “Environment and Culture” section of the departure gate (Entrance Three).

The three awards for top designs were sponsored by IDEAL and Panorama Bikes, COCO-MAT, and Skiadopoulos Photographic Equipment
